Product description

This recall re-announcement involves all white plastic molded clip-on nocks used in arrows for Ravin® brand crossbows. The white arrow nocks were sold in a package of 12 and also as original equipment with Ravin® R9 and R15 crossbows and with Ravin® arrows. The white nocks measure about 2.3 cm long.

Hazard identified

If the white nock is not fully engaged with the bowstring, the Ravin® Crossbow can fail to discharge when the trigger is pulled and can result in the bow discharging while re-nocking of the arrow, posing a laceration hazard to users.

UPDATE on incidents reported:

As of August 6, 2021, the company has received no reports of injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 51 reports of finger injuries, including 21 serious injuries and 28 new reported injuries since the original 2017 recall announcement.

Number sold

The company reported that approximately 3,600 white clip-on nocks were sold in Canada and approximately 220,000 of the affected nocks were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from October 2016 through November 2017 in Canada and the United States at various retailers and online stores.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the white nocks and contact Ravin® Crossbows to exchange them for free with replacement orange nocks and to receive a merchandise credit. Consumers should follow the manufacturer's instructions and maintenance guidelines for continued safe operation of the crossbows and nocks.
