Attachment Kits for 60 Inch Brooms that were sold without manuals

Product description

This recall only involves attachment kits that were sold without the operator’s manual.  The attachment kits are used to attach John Deere 60 inch brooms to John Deere 1023E, 1025R and 2025R compact utility tractors. The attachment kits are sold as separate items and have BLV10795 printed on the label of the box.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no defect with the 60 inch brooms or compact utility tractors. Attachment kits that were sold with the operator's manual are also not included in this recall.

Hazard identified

Some of the attachment kits are missing the operator's manual. The operator's manual describes how to attach and safely operate the 60 inch brooms.  Not following the operator's manual can result in important safety information being missed, posing an injury hazard.

As of April 21, 2020, John Deere Canada ULC has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.

Number sold

Approximately 59 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 440 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from October 2017 to February 2020.

What you should do

Consumers that are missing the broom operator's manual should immediately stop using the broom and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for an operator's manual.

For more information, consumers may contact Deere & Company by telephone toll-free at 1-800- 537-8233 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Consumers can also visit the company's website.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
