Product description
This recall involves 16oz bamboo fiber cup. The black mug comes with teal coloured lids and can be identified by the model number CJ5001. It is made of 60% bamboo fibre, 20% cornstarch, 20% melamine. It has the following warning statements written on it:
- "Caution Contents Hot" written on the lid; and
- "Do not microwave, Dishwasher safe" written on the base of mug.
Hazard identified
The affected cups may crack or break, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
As of January 7, 2020, the company has received one report of a minor burn injury in Canada.
Number sold
Approximately 7,830 units of the affected products were sold exclusively in Vancouver, Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from March to November, 2019.
