Product description
This recall involves Stinger 3-in-1 Insect Zappers (Canadian models BK310CV1 and BK311CV2). The electric insect zappers are black or grey in colour and stand vertically. The units are about 19 inches in height and 6 inches in width and require an extension cord to operate outside. The recalled models have codes ending in YTG and Made in China printed on the silver label on the bottom of the product.

Hazard identified
The insect kill grid can detach inside the housing, posing a shock hazard to consumers. The shock could be minor to serious depending on the area touched and external circumstances.
As of October 4, 2018, neither Kaz Canada, Inc. nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these affected products.
Number sold
Approximately 15,840 units of the affected products were sold at various retailers in Canada including Canadian Tire, Lowes, Rona, and Home Hardware.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from April 2018 to August 2018.
