Hazard identified
The recalled products do not have proper hazard labelling for consumer chemicals as required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).
The lack of the required symbols and warnings could lead to improper use of the product and present a flammability hazard leading to serious injury or fire. Materials used with the products, such as rags, may spontaneously self-ignite, even with no source of ignition like a spark or flame.
Health Canada has received one report of an incident where a rag spontaneously ignited. No injuries have been reported.
Evo Home Finishing has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada.

An unknown number of units of Ligna brand natural oil finishes for wood has been sold.

The recalled products were sold from April 2014 to September 2016.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Evo Home Finishing to obtain a compliant label. After applying the product, consumers should place rags in water or lay them flat to dry before disposing of them.
