Product description
This recall involves 2x32W T8 fluorescent wrap around surface mounted EPOWRAP luminaire sold under the ElectriPro brand. The affected fixtures have lampholders as shown in Image 1. The model of the luminaire is EPOWRAP.
It is a 122-centimetre (four-foot) fluorescent luminaire with a white painted steel body and translucent wrap around acrylic lens, suitable for 2 x32W T8 fluorescent lamps.
Units provided with lampholders with green inserts as shown in Image 2 are not affected by this recall.
Hazard identified
The T8 sockets supplied with the unit could potentially pose a risk of fire.
Liteline Corporation has received four reports of sockets burning with minor property damage due to smoke. There have been no reports of injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these luminaires.
Number sold
Approximately 13,000 units of the affected luminaires were sold by Westburne and NEDCO across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected luminaires were sold from April 2010 to April 2011.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the luminaires and can contact Westburne or NEDCO (banners of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc.) for a socket upgrade kit.
