Portable Husky Generators
Product description
This recall involves two models of portable "Husky" brand generators: HUCA7000 and HUCA5700. Generators with model number HUCA7000 are powered by Honda whereas generators with model number HUCA5700 are powered by Yamaha.
Generators with a silver dot on the face of the fuel gauge and boxes with a green dot, which contain reworked units, are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
The generators are equipped with fuel gauges that may leak gasoline, posing a potential fire hazard to the consumer.
Neither Homelite Consumers Products Inc. nor Health Canada have received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians relating to the use of these generators.
Number sold
Approximately 53 of the recalled products were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products may have been sold in Canada between February 2009 and May 2009.
