Product description

This information applies to multiple models of the BOB Jogging Strollers that were manufactured and imported between January 1, 1997 and September 30, 2015. All affected models have a removable front wheel which is attached to the stroller by a quick release lever.

The following models are affected:

  • Revolution FLEX
  • Revolution PRO
  • Revolution SE
  • Revolution CE
  • Stroller Strides Fitness
  • Sport Utility
  • Ironman

Hazard identified

The front wheel of these strollers may detach if improperly secured causing the stroller to flip over posing a possible fall hazard.

It is important to engage your quick release correctly because the function of the quick release is to secure your front wheel to your stroller. If the quick release is improperly engaged, your front wheel could detach in use, and you or your child could be injured.

As of May 6, 2019, the company has received 16 reports of front wheel detachment in Canada, and 0 reports of injuries to children and 4 reports of adult scratches and bruises.

Number sold

Approximately 37,905 units of the affected product were sold by Britax in Canada. These BOB jogging strollers are no longer sold at retail.

The affected strollers were sold from January 1, 1997 to September 30, 2015.

What you should do

Consumers should visit the BOB Gear Information Campaign website to view their online video for further instructions on how to properly install the front wheel quick release or how to obtain certain Campaign incentives, such as an alternative attachment mechanism or discount on a new stroller or accessory.

The BOB Jogging Strollers are not subject to a recall order made under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. Health Canada's Consumer Product Safety Program considers the actions taken by Britax to fall within the definition of "recall" that appears in the department's guidance document A guide for voluntary recall of consumer products or cosmetics in Canada. Britax's actions fall within that definition since corrective actions taken post-production were communicated to consumers to address safety issues associated with the product.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
