Product description
This recall involves John Deere lawn tractors with model numbers D110, D125, D130, D140, D155, D160 and D170 with serial numbers beginning with 1GXD. A complete list of serial numbers included in this recall can be found on the firm's website. The model number can be found on the bottom left and right of the hood in yellow. The serial number is located on the left side of tractor, under the fender, above the left rear tire.
Hazard identified
The brake arm on the lawn tractor can fail, posing a crash hazard that could result in serious injury or death.
Neither Health Canada nor Deere & Company has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these lawn tractors.
Number sold
Approximately 370 of the recalled lawn tractors were sold in Canada at John Deere dealers, Lowe’s and The Home Depot stores. Approximately 1,700 products were distributed in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from May 2015 to August 2015 in Canada and the United States.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lawn tractors and contact the nearest John Deere dealer to make arrangements for a free repair.
For more information, consumers may contact Deere & Company at 1-800-537-8233 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday and between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. ET Saturday, or visit the firm's website and select Product Recall Information on the drop-down menu under Services & Support.
Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
